What About Stuff?

Living in an RV or Trailer vs. a “Stick” house does mean you’ll need to purge your stuff.  I keep getting rid of things little by little, and have fully planned on selling and donating.  However, those little items like what the children have painted for me, or keepsakes that I do not want ever to get rid of – what about those?  To me, it means a storage unit.  Not a large one, but definitely I will need one.  I have to figure in a storage unit into the “full-timer” budget.

In talking to Kevin over at NuRVers, I asked him what he’s done and he was kind enough to tell me how he worked through his own “stuff”. Also, many of the blogs on “full-timing” do talk about this.  I’ve read through what others have done, and have made my own decision on what I’ll do.

I suppose everything at this point is getting categorized already:

  1. Give to my kids
  2. Sell
  3. Donate
  4. Store
  5. Toss

There really isn’t any “tossables”.  I did that when I moved out of my home that I had lived in for over 10 years this past June.  I also sold alot then, and my daughter has since moved into her first apartment so I gave her quite a bit this past week.  There is still a lot left.

I’ll get there.

I’m getting nervous – which means excited, right?  Yay me!
